Why non-technical entrepreneurs are doomed
If you think about some of the businesses that have come in and reshaped industries due to technology:
Uber: The taxi industry relied on telephone calls and "pot luck" of catching a taxi on the corner. Then came Uber and they took over marketshare and within one year became more successful. Just an app, yet more powerful because of the use of technology to make it easily accessible for everyone to get a "car" in a time frame that is realistic, for a price that they know they are going to be charged, and without having to wait out in the cold hoping for a car to turn up.
Wotif: Who use to ring around to get the best price for a hotel room or a flight? I think many people use to do this, and due to platforms like www.lastminute.com.au, hotels.com and wotif.com, people were able to quickly find a hotel or flight, at the most competitive price in real time and book within minutes.
Uber Eats: I never thought I would do it, but eventually this year I did. I ordered on Uber Eats and I did so because it solved a problem - standing in line or waiting for food that I wanted to eat and traffic.
Technology is driving every industry and how companies to advancing their businesses using technology will really dictate their ability to stay viable.
Entrepreneurs that refuse to invest in technology will find themselves on an isolated island eventually with less customers and more issues. How people are doing business today is vastly different to even 2 years ago and those changes will continue to dramatically evolve and roll-out to be come a new norm.
For B2B businesses, ensuring that your technology suite is cloud-based, driven by artificial intelligence and machine learning is the bare basics. From there its about looking into spatial technology and VR/AR to improve business processes and customer experience.
A standout for B2B marketing is:
Robotic Marketer: This artificial intelligence company has taken on the big consulting firms head on. What takes thousands of dollars and many people hours to develop, is now done in matter of minutes, arguably faster, smarter and more intuitively than it's manual predecessor. Robotic Marketer uses customer input and turns it into a powerful marketing strategy that benefits from machine learning and the ability to research and collect data from the internet - really fast! For only $3,950, B2B companies can get a marketing strategy in the form of a detailed report including competitor analysis, with a marketing implementation plan that is easily integrated into project management tools and a dashboard that helps them manage their entire marketing process.
If you're a business and you aren't using technology to develop your strategies, you are limiting your opportunities and being narrow focused. Capitalising on managing your business from a digital perspective and leveraging technology to make smarter business decisions, connect better with customers and prospects and manage your people - is the norm for successful businesses.
You may say to yourself that that I'm surviving - but that is a short-game to play. The question you have to ask yourself is "for how long"?
