Glen Eira Small Business Website and Digital Marketing Grants Will Give Local Business An Advantage
Small businesses are being left in the lurch by Government's one-sided approach to helping them survive this once in a lifetime pandemic. While we can't throw stones at all decisions, it has proven that the inability for the Government to reign in the $1500 JobKeeper and not pay people more than they earn to sit at home and watch Netflix, to be a disaster. Fruit and vegetable growers cannot get people to pick their crops because they get paid more to stay home in front of the television. This extends to the city where millennials and graduates no longer need to get a job due to the fact that they have less costs staying home, yet are paid almost as much as they would if they worked. Instead they can spend their days online or learn new skills through online courses.
While this is all very good and well, it impacts small business the most. Which leads to how small businesses change their own narratives and collaborate more with technology and digital marketing, to streamline their business processes. It's impossible to be in business today without a good website that connects with your target audience.
Why Glen Eira has the advantage
Years ago, Glen Eira City Council asked me to come and speak to small business owners and the room was full. That is a credit to the Glen Eira City Council and how entrenched they are in supporting small business. On Friday, I had several calls from small businesses in Glen Eira asking for quotes on websites, marketing strategies, digital marketing campaigns and social media campaigns.
While other councils are using mentors who quite often are professional public servants, Glen Eira is helping small businesses move fast with their adoption of performance based websites that generate leads and sales, ensuring that their businesses survive.
